If I had some advice for IST it would be:ġ. It might not have been taught in the best possible way but I had most of the tools I needed to succeed in graduate school. If you're looking for an easy ride to get a comfy job IST is not the place for you. Someone more recent can give a better perspective on this aspect.Īt the end of the day it really is about how motivated you are. Unfortunately in my time there wasnt much real research. No one internationally (obviously) does.Īll that being said IST does teach you all you need to know to make a career for yourself in aerospace at least. Maybe some SPD places recognize it but most places don't. The administration says it's because industry recognizes ISTs quality but that is mostly a lie. OP is also correct that your GPA will be lower than other places like NUST. Alumni of a university are an asset but IST has successfully managed to alienate all its alumni. You will be turned away from gate if you're an alumni. To utilize links with alumni is second step, but they actively refuse to recognize anyone who has graduated. I agree with the OP that IST has a very serious problem with respecting its alumni. I am a graduate of IST and can give another opinion on it. And that vast majority contains many brilliant minds and 3+ gpas. For the vast majority, IST will kick you out as an orphan after 4 years. A few IST graduates get into Nescom/Suparco.
